Training in Elegance part 1

It is a little old fashioned and maybe not stylish anymore, but good manners are the difference between monkeys and gentlemen. But the woman doesn't make it easy for the man to be gallant sometimes, you know.

To be holding a chair for instance can be difficult if the lady is not helping a bit. This is how it's done:

Simple, right?

  1. Nice to see grown ups do it.Teaching kids is harder, usually accompanied by me screeching 'stop scraping your chair!'

    1. Lift your butt, so I won't have to scrape your chair all over the floor. You might want to see whats happening behind you, dear. But my girls learned, at last and so will your kids. Great you teach them that!

  2. Great example Han! I was the only girl in our family for 16 years so my brother and cousins used to all practice on me at family gatherings. ;) Thanks for sharing.

    1. I'm sure you made great exercise material, Cat! A man with manners will never go out of fashion.

  3. My husband is always a gentleman and does the little things like pulling out a chair, opening a door, walking on the outside. Of course, we're older when those things were a matter of course, but I like it.

    1. My wife always smiles when I insist walking on the outside. It's in my system I suppose. Maybe we were raised differently, maybe different times.

Nothing wrong with your taste to choose a gentle man.
